Bajaj CNG

Bajaj Auto is planning to launch its first CNG-powered motorcycle in the Indian market. Earlier the sale of this bike was expected to start later this month, but according to Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto, the launch has now been postponed till July 17.

The Bajaj CNG bike will revolutionize commuting in India. It will be the first production motorcycle to use both CNG and petrol fuel. This will make the range between refuelling quite good. However, the time taken to fill CNG can be challenging, especially in metros, given the long queues of vehicles outside CNG pumps.

A CNG bike is better or a petrol

CNG bike

According to experts, whether it is a car or a bike, both petrol and CNG engines have their own advantages and disadvantages. According to Rajesh Kumar, General Manager (Service) in a well-known company, the running cost of CNG is less than petrol.

But the maintenance cost of CNG is more than petrol. Compared to petrol, CNG kit needs quick and regular servicing and maintenance. In this, the cost of cleaning the CNG filter, cylinder and gas line etc. increases. Apart from this, CNG puts pressure on the engine, due to which its parts get damaged quickly. At the same time, it is a flammable gas, which increases the risk of fire.
