Election Results 2024: The seven-phase mega Lok Sabha elections concluded on Saturday and now the country is eagerly waiting to know who will form the government at the Centre. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hoping to come to power for the third consecutive time at the Centre.
On the other side is the Bharat Bloc, which includes the Congress and dozens of other non-BJP parties. Voting for the 2024 general elections covering 543 parliamentary constituencies began on April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26, the third on May 7, the fourth on May 13, the fifth on May 20, the sixth on May 25 and the final phase on June 1.
The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will take place on Tuesday, June 4. Counting of votes for the simultaneous assembly elections in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will also take place on Tuesday, along with by-elections for some assembly seats in other states. The counting of votes for state elections in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh took place on Sunday, June 2.
An exit poll is a post-poll survey and is similar to an opinion poll, which is a pre-poll survey. In an exit poll, voters are asked after they step out of the polling booth who they voted for. On the other hand, the latter survey asks people who they intend to vote for.
The election began with the first round of polling on April 19, while the second-sixth phases were held on April 26, May 7, 13, 20 and 25. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is seeking to come to power for the third consecutive time at the Centre and secure a single-party majority for the third time.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also seek a third consecutive term in power in the country's top post. Prime Minister Modi is an MP from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, from where he contested his first Lok Sabha election in 2014, and is contesting for the third consecutive time from the seat. His main rival is Congress party state unit chief Ajay Rai, who finished third in both the 2014 and 2019 elections.

The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will take place on Tuesday, June 4.
