Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the updated Shine 125. The new bike now meets OBD-2B compliance and comes with new features in the process. The bike gets an updated engine and fully digital instrument console to meet the upcoming emission norms. Which is like the rest of Honda's mass-market range.
The company has introduced the bike in two variants. The front drum brake variant with alloy wheels is priced at Rs 84,493 and the front disc brake variant with alloy wheels is priced at Rs 89,245, all prices ex-showroom Delhi. In the 125cc commuter motorcycle segment, Honda Shine 125 will compete with Hero Glamor Xtreme, Hero Super Splendor, TVS Rider etc.
Honda Shine 125 has a very special commuter design with sportiness. It has stylish graphical elements, which can be seen from the tank to the tail section to the body panels. Chrome accent has been given on the front headlight cowl and exhaust cover at the rear. The bike has a long single-piece seat, At the end of which is a body-coloured grab rail. The bike comes with 6 new color options – Pearl Igneous Black, Jenny Gray Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, Decent Blue Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue.
The bike now gets a fully digital instrument console, which shows readouts of speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, fuel gauge, gear position indicator, real-time fuel economy, distance to empty and power mode indicator. Apart from this, the bike is also provided with side-stand engine cut-off feature and UBS Type-C charging port.

New Shine 125: Engine Power
For performance, the new Honda Shine 125 now has a 123.94cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, OBD2B compliant engine, which generates 10.63hp power and 11Nm torque and is tuned with a 5-speed gearbox for transmission. The bike also has Honda's Idle Start-Stop system, Which stops the bike when it is stationary and starts it again when the throttle is turned. This improves mileage.
