Mini Countryman EV to launch on July 24 in India

The first Mini Countryman EV has also been given a new look while retaining the classic shape. The all-electric Countryman comes with a 66.4 kWh battery pack, which has a WLTP-claimed range of 462 km. It has a single electric motor making 204 PS and 250 Nm. The Countryman EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds.

The new Mini Countryman measures 4,433 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width, and 1,656 mm in height. The company has increased the size of the wheelbase of the car to 2,692 mm. The third generation Countryman could be Mini’s largest car. Talking about the design of this car, the roof of this car has been kept curved.

The new Mini Countryman does not have a driver display, which is quite different. But this car has an optional head-up display while all the rest of the information will come on its touchscreen. This mini car also has a new OLED display, which has the latest infotainment system. Along with this, a full-screen speedo has also been given for driving. But it can be a bit difficult to use.

This mini car has a panoramic sunroof and massage function for the front seat. The rear seats of this car can also be adjusted. Along with this, the ADAS feature is also given in this car. The interior of the new Mini Countryman uses recycled materials and textiles, which is different from the usual leather.

The Mini Countryman Electric shares its underpinnings with the BMW iX1. Globally, the electric SUV is offered in two variants – E and SE ALL4. Both variants come with a 64.7kWh battery pack, however, the base variant gets a single electric motor and produces 204bhp and 250Nm of torque. The SE trim has dual electric motors that produce 313bhp and 493Nm of torque. In contrast, the E trim can cover a distance of 461km on a single charge (WLTP cycle), while the SE offers a driving range of 433km.

Expected Price and Rivals

The all-electric Mini Countryman could be priced starting at Rs 55 lakh. The former won’t have any direct rivals in India, but the Countryman EV will compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
