Motorola Edge 70 Launch Globally World’s Thinnest Smartphone

Tech company Motorola has launched its thinnest smartphone, the Motorola Edge 70, globally. Motorola's thinnest smartphone to date. Its thickness of the phone is just 5.9 mm, which is 2.0 mm less than the previous model, the Motorola Edge 60.

Despite its thinness, the Motorola Edge 70 smartphone comes with MIL-STD 810H military certification, making it a very rugged phone. It also comes with an IP68 + IP69 rating, making it dust and water-resistant.

The phone also features a 50-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), 12GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 7th Gen 4 processor. Motorola recently launched the Moto X70 Air in China.

Motorola Edge 70 Design

The phone is built on an aircraft-grade aluminum frame. The phone has IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it water and dust-resistant. The back panel features a horizontal pill-shaped protrusion with an LED flash, giving it a distinctive Edge series look.

The phone is only 5.99 mm thick, making it one of the thinnest phones in the world. It weighs 159 grams, making it quite light in your pocket. The front has glass protection and a nylon-textured back, which provides a good grip.

This phone will be less prone to fingerprints. It is available in three Penoton-certified colors: Gadget Gray, Lily Pad, and Bronze Green. The matte-glossy finish gives it a premium feel.

Motorola Edge 70: Specifications

Display: The Motorola Edge 70 features a 6.67-inch 1.5K screen with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. It is a punch-hole display based on a pOLED panel. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The company has used Water Touch technology, which makes it easy to touch even with wet hands. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Camera: For photography, the Motorola Edge 70 5G features a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel OIS sensor. It works with a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 120-degree FOV and a 3-in-1 light sensor. There is a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

Performance: The Motorola Edge 70 is powered by Qualcomm's 4-nanometer Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 octa-core processor, clocked at up to 2.8GHz. The phone has 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which ensures fast app loading and smooth multitasking. Storage is 512GB of UFS 3.1.

Battery: The phone packs a 4,800mAh battery. The company claims it can play videos for up to 28 hours on a full charge. 68W fast charging helps recharge the battery quickly, and 15W wireless charging is also available.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, and NFC. Google Gemini voice control is also available. The screen is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 7.
