Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan is a big match player and he proved this very well in the last match of the Super-8 round of T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday. Rashid Khan took four wickets for only 23 runs in four overs in the crucial match against Bangladesh.
During this, Rashid Khan made a world record in his name. Afghanistan’s leg-spinner has become the fastest bowler to take 150 wickets in T20 International cricket. Rashid Khan crossed the 150-wicket mark in the 92nd match of his T20 International career. He broke the record of New Zealand’s legendary fast bowler Tim Southee, who took 150 wickets in 118 matches.
Left Shakib Al Hasan behind
Apart from this, Rashid also left behind Bangladesh’s experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as soon as he completed 150 wickets. Rashid Khan has reached the second position in terms of taking the most wickets in T20 International cricket. The record of taking the most wickets in T20 International cricket is still registered in the name of Tim Southee. Shakib Al Hasan has slipped to the third position with 149 wickets.

When Rashid ran to take the second run and got a call from Karim to go back, the angry Afghan captain threw his bat in the middle of the pitch and returned to his end. Rashid’s anger was clearly visible in his eyes. When Karim picked up Rashid’s bat and started giving it to him, the Afghan captain angrily grabbed the bat and hit it hard on his pad. Breaked the back of Bangladesh
Let us tell you that Rashid took the ball after the powerplay against Bangladesh and in his very first over, showed the way to the pavilion to Soumya Sarkar (10). Khan clean bowled Sarkar. In his next over, Rashid got Tauhid Hridaya (14) caught by Jadran. In the third over of his spell, Rashid took two consecutive wickets in the last two balls. He made Mahmudullah (6) and Rishad Khan (0) his third and fourth victims.

Rashid made a blast against Bangladesh not only with the ball but also with the bat. The Afghanistan captain scored an unbeaten 19 runs with the help of three sixes in 10 balls against Bangladesh. These three sixes made a huge difference. Afghanistan scored 115 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs on the basis of Rashid Khan‘s innings.
