India has many festivals and each festival has its own reason to be celebrated. Festivals mark the importance of cultures and traditions that are followed in India.
Basant Panchami marks the onset of 'Spring' season. 'Basant' means spring and 'Panchmi' which is the fifth day of 'Maagh' month in ten Hindu calendars.
Many communities also celebrate Basant Panchami as 'Saraswati Puja'. Children are introduced to learning on this day as Goddess Saraswati is considered as an idol of Intelligence and Wisdom.
Every festival can be enjoyed even more with delicious food. Since Basant Panchami is all about wearing yellow, seeing yellow and eating yellow.
